Workforce Development

At Rogue Retreat, we believe that sustainable employment is key to long-term stability and success. Our Workforce Development programs provide hands-on job training and skill-building opportunities for participants looking to rebuild their lives. Through real-world work experience, mentorship, and professional development, we empower individuals to gain the skills and confidence needed to enter the workforce and achieve self-sufficiency.

Hope Streets: Landscaping & Cleanup

Hope Streets offers participants the opportunity to work on landscape maintenance and cleanup projects for the City of Medford and local businesses. Participants gain experience in groundskeeping, equipment operation, teamwork, and customer service as part-time employees of Rogue Retreat. This program not only teaches valuable trade skills but also fosters a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility.

Hope Kitchen Internship

Hope Kitchen serves as both a vital meal provider and a training ground for those interested in culinary careers. Interns in this eight-week program learn kitchen operations, food safety, meal preparation, and teamwork in a high-volume setting. Many graduates go on to secure employment in restaurants and food service establishments throughout Jackson County, using their experience at Hope Kitchen as a stepping stone toward long-term career growth.

Thrift Shop Retail Training

At our thrift shop, participants gain hands-on experience in retail operations, customer service, merchandising, and inventory management. By volunteering in a structured retail setting, they build valuable skills that prepare them for jobs in sales, cashiering, and store management. This program provides a supportive environment where participants can develop confidence and professional skills while contributing to a meaningful cause.

Workforce Development Center & Job Skills Training

We are currently developing a Workforce Development Center in a new building that will serve as a dedicated space for training and skill-building. This center will offer Job Skills Training to teach participants how to create resumes, prepare for interviews, and present themselves professionally both during the hiring process and as employees. By providing these essential skills, we aim to equip individuals with the tools they need to successfully secure and maintain employment.

Community Impact & Employment Benefits

Our Workforce Development programs not only transform the lives of participants but also provide significant benefits to the community. By equipping individuals with job skills and connecting them to employment opportunities, we help strengthen the local workforce, reduce unemployment, and enhance economic stability. Businesses benefit from reliable, trained employees, and the broader community gains from cleaner neighborhoods, improved services, and a more engaged workforce.

Building Pathways to Employment

Each of our Workforce Development programs is designed to provide real-world experience, job readiness training, and individualized support to help participants secure and maintain employment. Through mentorship, coaching, and partnerships with local businesses, we strive to create lasting pathways to financial independence and personal fulfillment.

By investing in people, we strengthen our community. Workforce Development at Rogue Retreat is more than job training—it’s a step toward a brighter future.
